Does more than look fabulous on a coffee table. Beyond it's silky cover, there's a colorful look at a country so vast that it would take several lifetimes to see it all. -- Dallas Morning News
The accomplished author Anchee Min writes the prologue to China, People Place Culture History, a handsome book published by DK Publishing. The book runs to over glossy 350 pages and, as it title suggests, covers China's history, geography, and culture with magnificent photographs. For instance, the Songzanlin Buddhist 17th century monastery in Yunnan draped in mist and the Grand Canal near Wuxi in Jiangsu are particularly beautiful examples of landscape photography. --The Travel Photographer

A Must-see Trip throughout China
This book is a wonderful review of the many different regions of China. Beautiful illustrations make you want to look at the book over and over again.
Beautiful Book
I gave this book to a friend who was preparing to leave for a tour of China. This is not really a guide book, but it gives you a beautiful photographic tour of the key history and cultural events of this ancient country.
CHINA WOW!
This was a present for my nephew who is going to visit China this spring on a school sponsored trip. When I went to visit for Christmas, he could not stop talking about how much he had learned from his book. He turned page after page showing me all the places he was going to visit and said with this book I feel like I'm already there.
Beautiful illustrations abound, along with the text that is detailed, but not overwhelming.
